The overall objective of the project was to increase the quality and efficiency of R&D in the medical field in order to improve the health of the population and promote the economic competitiveness between biotechnology producers.
The aim of the project was to create a research-development and innovation infrastructure capable of discovering, supporting and facilitating translation into clinical trials, and finally to the medical practice of a number of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic methods, with the potential to complement or even replace classical methods (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery).
Specific objectives:
- Creating an R&D structure in the medical field (translational medical research in cancer, integrated cancer research, stem cell department, immunology department, cell and human tissue bank, biobase);
- Increasing the institution’s capacity of developing research projects in the field;
- Development of national and international research partnerships in the field;
- Creating doctoral and research positions in the field.
