Experimental Medicine Department
Short description:
The compartment is the in vivo test area where isolated organ bath studies, animal models for different types of tumors, studies on isolated muscle fiber, spirometry, Langendorff, in vivo imaging studies are performed. Furthermore, biomatrics can be obtained by decellularization procedures for tissue regeneration experiments. The compartment is equipped with a laboratory biobase of small animals, operating room, complex intraoperative monitoring systems (pulse, blood pressure, ventilation, electrocardiogram, temperature, etc.), vital support systems during surgical interventions (assisted ventilation, extracorporeal circulation, etc.), equipment and laboratories for experimental medicine.
Main activities / techniques:
- tumor models in vivo, imaging studies in vivo
- obtaining biomatrics for tissue regeneration
- in vivo toxicology experiments
- experiments on the isolated heart – Langendorff model; respirometry studies
- investigations in the isolated organ bath
