Cultivated Adult Stem Cells as Alternative for Damaged tissue – CASCADE

OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of the project is to develop standardized GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) production methods for adult mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) cultivation for clinical applications in repairing injured human tissues. MSC derived from various sources: bone marrow (BM), umbilical cord blood (CB), adipose tissue (AT), or amniotic membrane (AM) will be studied. The therapeutic potential and the functions of cultivated MSC will be extensively evaluated in vitro and in vivo. The consortium seeks to develop clinical protocols for MSC applications in the healing of chronic connective tissue lesions (varicose ulcer and corneal ulcer).
