Flowcytometry laboratory

Short presentation:
Flowcytometry lab is intended for research activities in cancer investigations (circulating tumor cells, solid tumor cells, tumor vascularization, cancer stem cells), stem cell studies (ES and iPS, hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells, satellite cells), immunology (autoimmunity, tumor immunology, allergy), neuroscience, and cardiovascular exploration (tissue-derived cardiac cells, and ES/iPS-derived cardiac cells), for both human and animal model studies. The lab is designed to efficiently harmonize with the department of cell cultures and experimental medicine department, which provide the biological samples for analysis. Well-appointed with cutting-edge devices, the laboratory works for efficient identification of major cell types, and sorting of rare cellular populations from fluid and solid samples.

Main activities/techniques:

  • total DNA content (cell cycle analysis, cell kinetics, proliferation, etc.); DNA copy number variation (by Flow-FISH)
  • protein expression and localization; protein modifications; cell sorting
  • cell surface antigens (CD markers); intracellular antigens (cytokines, secondary mediators, etc.); nuclear antigens.
