Cell and Tissue bank

Short presentation:
Our cell and tissues bank is an area about 76 msq, dedicated to long term storage in liquid nitrogen for hematopoietic stem cells from different sources, primary cells (mesenchymal stem cells, tumor cells), cell lines, and tumor tissue fragments.
The cryostorage facility is also designed for cells and tissue short and medium term storage at -80°C.

Main activities/techniques:

  • cryopreservation processes adapted to each cell type
  • continuous monitorization of cryopreservation temperature
  • defreezing processes adapted to each cell type
  • cell counting
  • cell viability assay
